Our Story

Nottingham Menopause Awareness (NMA) began with a shared vision and a personal connection among four dedicated individuals. What started as a support network of friends evolved into a vital resource for businesses across Nottingham.

Our Origins

The seeds of NMA were sown from a personal experience. Madeleine Cox, Eleanor Harris, Natasha Gilbert, and Danielle Joyce—each bringing their unique perspectives and expertise—found themselves navigating the challenges of menopause within their own workplaces. Through their HR departments, they offered support and shared resources, but they soon realised that the need extended beyond their individual companies.

From Support Network to Formal Initiative

In early 2024, the four of us came together with a clear mission: to address a growing need for comprehensive support and resources related to menopause in the workplace. Recognising that this was a broader issue affecting many businesses in Nottingham, we decided to formalise our efforts and create Nottingham Menopause Awareness.

Our collective experience and passion drove us to establish NMA as a dedicated platform to provide valuable resources, practical guidance, and expert advice. We set out to help employers understand and support their staff through menopause, aiming to create inclusive and supportive work environments across the region.

Our Goals

As we continue to develop and expand, our primary goal remains to assist businesses in Nottingham in better supporting their workforce. We are committed to providing ongoing support, resources, and information to help companies address menopause proactively and compassionately. By working together with local businesses, we aspire to set a standard for workplace inclusivity and wellbeing.

We invite you to join us in this journey towards creating a more supportive and understanding work environment for everyone.
