Hey everyone!
As National Menopause Awareness Month comes to a close, we’re thrilled to look back and celebrate all the amazing events and activities that took place. It’s been an incredible journey filled with learning, sharing, and connecting. Here’s a recap of what went down and some key takeaways from our exciting month.
Kick-Off Event: Menopause Awareness Fair
We started the month with a bang at our Menopause Awareness Fair. Held at the Nottingham Science & Technology Park, the event brought together experts, advocates, and community members. There were informative booths, interactive workshops, and plenty of opportunities for one-on-one chats. The energy was fantastic, and we loved seeing so many of you there!
Key Takeaway: Awareness is the first step towards change. By coming together and sharing knowledge, we can break down the stigma surrounding menopause.
Weekly Webinars: Expert Insights
Throughout the month, we hosted a series of weekly webinars covering various topics related to menopause. From understanding symptoms to workplace best practices, our experts provided valuable insights and answered your burning questions. If you missed any, don’t worry! Recordings are available on our website.
Key Takeaway: Education empowers. The more we know, the better we can support ourselves and others through the menopausal transition.
Support Group Meetups
Our monthly Menopause Support Group meetings were extra special this month. We held additional sessions and invited guest speakers to share their experiences and tips. These meetups offered a safe space for open discussion, support, and a few laughs along the way.
Key Takeaway: Community matters. Sharing stories and experiences helps us feel less alone and more understood.
Workplace Wellness Workshop
One of the highlights was our Workplace Wellness Workshop. Employers and HR professionals joined us for an interactive session on creating menopause-friendly workplaces. We discussed practical strategies and shared real-life examples of successful initiatives. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and we’re excited to see these practices implemented.
Key Takeaway: Small changes can make a big difference. Simple adjustments in the workplace can significantly improve the well-being of menopausal employees.
Menopause Awareness Walk
To wrap up the month, we organized a Menopause Awareness Walk through the beautiful streets of Nottingham. It was a fantastic way to raise awareness, get some exercise, and enjoy the company of fellow advocates. Plus, the weather was perfect!
Key Takeaway: Visibility is vital. Public events like this help bring menopause into the open and encourage broader conversations.
